I'm not writing this blog for my sister anymore. I'm not taking a road trip, she's not worrying about me being out alone on the road (Yet.. Ha, not sure she realized how much of a warmup that trip was), and I may or may not be able to keep this blog posting thing happening.
BUT... I want to document the process and the life change I'm going through. So I attempt...
Michelle, I'll keep you posted no matter what happens with the blog! Promise! And still won't make ya do the porta pottie thang! *snickering* Long as you don't count my beautiful new RV pottie as a porta pottie just because it's PORT-ABLE! :)
That being said.. I'll just carry on...
So last Saturday I purchased the RV I've been dreaming about owing, traveling and living in for many years! Yeah me! OMG, I'm terrified!!
For something that has been well researched, a long time coming, and a dream of mine for many years.. shit's flyin fast! No fans involved.. yet! At least things seem like they're happening extremely quickly and are a tad more scaaaary than I thought they'd be when I got to this much-imagined point.
This is the basic plan currently:
1. One week from today I will take possession of my new baby, spend a few shakedown weekends this month, and then put her in storage for the winter (boo hooo).
2. I currently rent a house. I've given my notice and at the end of November I'm moving in with my sister (tha'd be Michelle) and her husband, who live 3 miles from me, for 4 months. (It felt pretty damn good to write my last huge rent check!). No rent again until Dec, and those will be much smaller.
3. Between now and the end of November I will be separating and moving my things. Things I need for the winter will be going with me to my sisters. Things I need, but not this winter will be moved into the RV. I have two grown children, and they'll each get a pile of their childhood things - like it or not, on the sly if necessary. :) The rest is getting sold or donated or given away or thrown out.
4. In the spring, when the local campgrounds open up for the year the RV will be moved to a seasonal/long term site and I'll move into her. Yeah! Can't wait!
5. Throughout the summer I'll be exploring the east coast with her and shaking out the bugs.
6. I'll be hitting the road next year, either right after Xmas, or... depending where my kids are (my daughter currently lives in Brazil) and monetary opportunities.. maybe, just maybe after thanksgiving and before the snow flies here! Oh... I live in NE Pennsylvania, about 30 miles outside of Philadelphia.
So that's the plan.. It's official now. Really! Witnessed and notarized by Etch-A-Sketch!
We shall see how things shake out in the end... eventually. Ha
